Radio Trader is sort of like classified ads on the radio. You can buy, sell, and give stuff away from 11:30am to noon Monday through Friday and from 8:30am to 9:00am on Saturdays (some holidays excluded). There are some rules aimed at keeping Radio Trader a fast moving, easy to understand, and completely legal show:

1. Listeners who have items to buy, sell or trade may participate by mail, hand-delivered note or on the phone
2. Mailed or hand-delivered lists are guaranteed to be read on the day requested and will be announced during the first segment of the program.
3. Limit of two items to sell.
4. Each item must have a value. "Free" is considered a value. "Best offer" is not a value.
5. Limit of $200 value on each item.
6. Only one phone number for responses.
7. Restrictions: no farm or garden produce for sale, no real estate for sale or apartments for rent if you're the landlord, no firearms, no continuing services (such as babysitting, painting, lawn mowing or small engine repair), no animals or pets for sale.
8. Garage and yard sales are accepted only by mail or hand-delivered and cost $5.00 cash payment each day prior to broadcast.
9. For all items over $200 value or any item or service restricted under the free use of the program, the cost is $10.00 cash payment per item for broadcast one time and are accepted in person.
10. Due to the volume of calls and mail, each day's items and phone numbers are not available after the end of the program.
11. WCMY reserves the right to edit mail or hand-delivered lists for clarity.
12. Show format: Each caller will be assigned a number beginning with 1 for the first caller of the day. The caller will state what's for sale, trade, or wanted to buy. Then the caller will give a phone number for responses. The show host will repeat the telephone number for confirmation.
13. Listeners are encouraged to keep track of phone numbers. The host may be able to give you the phone number if you remember the caller number, but you'll probably just end up giving your own phone number and asking that caller to call you.
14. Trade items must be specific. "Trade for equal value" isn't specific.
