Elizabeth Mary Koshko was born on July 14, 1914 in Clarence, Pennsylvania. She married Michael Martin Surovey in Clarence on August 5, 1935. He died in 1970. She died in Clearfield, Pennsylvania on July 16, 1995 at age 81.

According to a 1987 family history communique from Elizabeth's brother Paul, Elizabeth was called Lizzie.
